Why do they look different to my original bouquet? -Let’s be realistic about this process
We will be putting your fresh flowers through an invigorating process. We will be removing all the moisture out of each flower. This will give your flower a vintage look, they will also shrink slightly. The colours will naturally change some become more darker, some lighter and some more dusky. White flowers look more cream in colour. They will look different from when they were fresh, plump and full of life. This is all the normal natural process of preservation. As much as we would love to put your bouquet back to how it originally was for your wedding day. This is unrealistic as it would be far to big to put in any photo frame and not all the flowers survive the gruelling process. Therefore after the drying stage is completely done. We will select the best flowers to rebuild a mini version of your bouquet in the style you choose prior with us.
How do I care for my framed arrangement ?
- Please do not open the secured frame containing your floral arrangement.
- Do not leave in any damp areas, high humidity areas or use any liquids, water on it.
- Please do not place in kitchens, bathrooms or any other room that attracts condensation.
- Avoid placing above heat appliances as heat rises and can damage the artwork.
- Although these frames have excellent UV protection please do not place in direct sunlight.
- Please ensure you have inspected and are 100% happy with your finished product/item on collection or at time of delivery. If you have requested your product to be delivered you must ensure an adult (18 years or over) will be present to receive the product and they are happy to take the responsibility of checking the item over.
- We will not take any responsibility for any breakages once you have collected it or we have delivered them to your chosen address.
- Please handle your frame and its contents carefully- be careful not drop or knocked it to avoid any breakages. Any knock to the frame may damage your flowers inside the frame.
- To clean gently wipe with a soft cloth, do not use any detergents or abrasive products.
- Your frame will be heavy please ensure it is fixed appropriately for the weight and size. If it falls it could cause serous harm to you or someone (We do not provide these fittings with your purchase).
How long will it last?
To ensure the best longevity life possible if you continue to give your arrangement the love and care it deserves there’s nothing to say it wouldn’t last forever. We have done our part of ensuring you have the very best UV Conversation protection glazing and a sealed premium frame to give you optimum protective results. However they are not 100% hermetically sealed meaning moisture may still find its way in which could reverse the work of the preservation process and cause the arrangement to soften & possibly go mouldy in areas if it is not kept in the correct environment.
Why can’t I throw my bouquet? What commitment do you need from me?
Flowers easily bruise and sometimes it’s unavoidable whilst being used in a wedding ceremony however it is paramount this is kept to the minimum for us to salvage any good flowers. If you throw your wedding bouquet it will bruise terribly and be seriously damaged. The bruising doesn’t come out straight away and may take a few hours to a few days and this damage is irreversible.
If this is something you really want to do we have some suggestions-
- Ask your bridesmaid if you can throw their bouquet instead.
- Purchase a “‘dummy” bouquet to throw
- If you really want to stick to tradition and throw your own bouquet then we would recommend you use one of you bridesmaids bouquets or others flowers you have used in your wedding to have preserved and protected instead.
- If possible during your wedding day handover the responsibility of your bouquet to a trusted bridesmaid/ friend/ family member. So you don’t need to worry about it and can enjoy your special day but be absolutely sure you can trust them to do the job properly.
- Ideally when you have finished with the bouquet (after photographs, wedding breakfast etc) using a small pair of scissors snip a bit of the bouquet stems off and immediately pop in a bit of water.
- If this is not possible to snip the ends just place the stems of the bouquet in water when not being used.
- Do not be tempted to /spray your flowers with water to keep them fresh as this can cause the petals to create spotting and brown.
- Leave in a safe, cool dry room in water until you can get them to us.
- If you can’t bring the bouquet to us the next day, get someone who can or for a small charge we can come and collect it for you if it is within ?? Radius of our Alfreton shop
- If you have bought your flowers from another florist ask them to refrain from applying any spray products on your flowers as this can react with the preserving chemicals and cause unwanted markings and discolouration.
- And lastly be honest with us, if you have had an issue with your bouquet during the wedding celebrations its got knocked, crushed, dropped, the chances are we still can help sort it out for you but we will need to know before the start of the process before it becomes evident to us during the preservation process and we can keep you informed throughout the stages so you are not worrying about it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Preservation Flowers in Resin
Why does it take so long?
The process involves numerous stages from us skilfully dismantling your precious flowers, the drying out process, the selection stage, mapping out, designing and then the encapsulation stages. (Which involves many intricate additional levels) these stages take a lot of time & patience. To get the best results no section can be rushed to ensure a beautiful unique result.
What Shapes & Sizes can I choice from?
The shapes we offer are hearts, coasters, pyramids, spheres, square blocks, Arches, candle holders, book ends, individual letters of the alphabet or a combination of letters for your initial’s or a persons name. However please bear in mind the choice of your chosen flowers will dictate what shape & size you could have for instance a rose wouldn’t fit in a coaster shape however a flat headed flower like a Gemini would.
Why do my flowers look different? Lets be realistic!
This is an unique art process, it is quite amazing how we can actually use your own original flowers and encapsulate them in a beautiful ornamental resin arrangement. It takes skill, time, patience and a lot of hard intricate detailing. However we need to remember these are handmade items, they have not just come out of a factory made by state of the art artificial intelligence machines. Therefore they may have imperfections, flowers can become transparent, trapped bubbles, it is impossible to be able to avoid these. Especially when working with real flowers as the chemical exchange of the resin with the flowers creates bubbles there’s no getting past this. Therefore if we can get them out we will however if this is impossible because they have appeared during the final stages of curing or out of our reach then it’s out of our hands.
This is what makes these unique as these are skilfully handmade by us for you! Please be assured that we are aware that you will be handing over something very precious to you to us and we will endeavour to provide the best possible chance to use them in your chosen piece.
How do I care for my resin arrangement?
We only use Highly ‘UV’ stable best-in-class resin. Despite the advanced UV protection we advise not to leave outdoors. The best way to care for your arrangement is to refrain from direct sunlight exposure like leaving on the window sill or other areas where it’s in direct sun exposure. We simply don’t have the longevity of testing to be able to guarantee how long it will be before the resin may deteriorate in direct sunlight.
To clean: A soft cloth should be enough to wipe dust off. You can also gently wash them with a spot of mild washing up liquid in warm water if needed. Please refrain from using any chemical substances, cleaning products, harch cloths/scratch pads or putting in the dishwasher as this will damage the resin.
Please consider where you will keep your resin arrangement carefully. They can be very heavy and are extremely hard objects. If they fall, are dropped or misused they can cause you or someone serious harm.
They are for ornamental use only some arrangements may be small in size which could be dangerous if a child or pet gets hold of them and must be kept well away from children and animals at all times.
Please ensure you read and follow the guidelines on the frequently asked questions.

However sometimes it isn’t immediately apparent of the full scale of the condition until they have been stripped down and individually inspected. Even then as your flowers are so delicate sometimes any bruising or damage doesn’t come out for a while. Therefore throughout each stage of the preserving process we will be constantly checking on the health of the flowers and any concerns we will contact you with our professional advice.
We do not colour enhance your flowers we don’t feel they look natural and believe they should be left as natural as possible from your special day. “Our aim is to stop them in time” to capture your moment.
During the early stages of the preservation we will only select the best quality flowers that we feel will have a good chance to withstand the preservation process and will discard any others and after completion any left over remnants will also be disposed off by us.
We will do our uppermost to get your beautiful piece/s completed within 2-6 months. However on occasions we may take a little longer depending on the season and complexity of your requirements.
If you do not collect your item/s after 28 days from being informed by us that they are ready for collection we have the legal right to sell them to redeem our expenses in making them.
As we have no control over the life of your arrangement and the ailments it is put through once it has left us we can only offer a 12 month warranty on our workmanship. In the unlikely circumstances that you do find a fault with your framed flowers within the 12 months warranty and you or a third party have not broken the seal of the frame and we deem it of no fault from you or a third party. Then we are more than happy to try and rectify the fault. If we can not rectify the issue we will give you a full refund on the price you paid for the preservation service in return of the full item. We will not take any responsibility if it comes to our attention and believe that the frame has been dropped, bashed or mistreated in anyway.
As flowers are perishable we can not take responsibility if a fault occurs that’s out of our control during the process. Some flowers just can not withstand the pressure of the preservation process. Therefore we can only stress that due to the nature of the sentimental value to you it is at your own risk and no refund or monies of any value will be given.
